cpLinks Features

General Features

  • cpLinks is a commercial grade, resilient and flexible program, even though it is completely free.
  • cpLinks creates static HTML pages from data held in a MySQL database. This is optimal for search engine indexing.
  • Every page has its own title, keywords and description tags which greatly enhances search engine optimisation and page rankings.
  • cpLinks static HTML pages have low server and response overhead as no queries or PHP processing are required to load a page. This creates lightning fast page response times and minimal server loads even under heavy user volumes.
  • cpLinks is easily integrated into existing web site designs via it's small number of user configurable templates. As each template is a PHP file, additional functionality can be readily incorporated into the basic product. A single CSS file controls all text characteristics.
  • All HTML output is HTML 4.01 transitional compliant for optimal browser compatibility.
  • A high quality administration control panel ensures effective and safe management of large quantities of data and fine control over program characteristics.
  • Any number of web sites can share the same cpLinks database (and the same data) as long as each runs a copy of cpLinks and has its configuration file set accordingly. You can use a single admin CP to manipulate the central database, however building the static HTML pages for each web site will require use of individual admin control panels.

Technical Features

  • Full source code is supplied and can be modified according to the cpLinks licence restrictions.
  • cpLinks has been developed and tested in a PHP "safe mode" environment.
  • Fine control of category and link page building is possible to reduce the possibility of server load spiking. Even the process to build the complete directory has in-built pauses to even out server loads.
  • Category and page building scripts are discreet so they can be individualy triggered by CRON events. (CRON job event handling is not a standard component of cpLinks).
  • cpLinks is easy to install and does not require any manual database manipulation during the installation process.
